Prime Rib

INGREDIENTS:
For more servings see source

4 pounds prime rib roast
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon herbes de Provence
kosher salt

DIRECTIONS:
1. Place rib roast on a plate and bring to room temperature, about 4 hours.
2. Preheat an oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).
3. Combine butter, pepper, and herbes de Provence in a bowl; mix until well blended. Spread butter mixture evenly over entire roast. Season roast generously with kosher salt.
4. Roast the 4-pound prime rib (see footnote if using a larger and smaller roast) in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Turn the oven off and, leaving the roast in the oven with the door closed, let the roast sit in the oven for 2 hours. Remove roast from the oven, slice, and serve. Gingerbread Cookies

Finally made the recipe on this dish towel last night. I've only had it for like three years! They turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. A delicious spiced gingerbread cookie that is easy to roll out. I baked them at 350 for 8 minutes. Next time I think I will try letting them bake a little longer for a crisper cookie. The kiddos thoroughly enjoyed being able to use the angel cookie cutter with 100% success!

Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses

I’m sure you have noticed my posts haven’t been on a regular basis over the last few months. The truth is that I’m pregnant with my third child and my husband who is in the Army National Guard was gone for a number of months. Sadly something had to give and I chose it to be my blog. I’ve decided to continue posting recipes since I have a few friends that are always interested in what is going on in my kitchen, but I will not be writing as much for a while. I have to admit I love having many of my recipes available to me no matter where I am!
Over the last year a friend of mine introduced me to Pinterest . Yes, I will admit it I’ve fallen in love! If you have ever wondered what recipes I would like to try next, here is your chance to see my creative mind at work through my Pinterest boards. Have fun, but if you do try anything and love it please let me know!
P.S The houses above were designed by my two little boys:)

My Homemade Baked Mac and Cheese Recipe

After trying many recipes I decided to come up with my own. I hope you enjoy:)
Original Recipe Yield  5 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 (8oz) package macaroni
  • 8 oz  grated sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 c. grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can cream mushroom soup ( cream of celery or cheddar cheese also works)
  • 1/3- 1/2 c. mayo
  • little grated onion
  • pepper to taste
  •  1 sleeve of Ritz cracker crumbs
  • 3 Tbs melted butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 235 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x 13 baking dish.
  2. In a large pot of salted water, lightly boil the macaroni for about 5 minutes-7 min. Don't over cook.
  3.  Drain water then put back into pot and add cheeses, cream of mushroom soup, mayo, grated onion pepper. Then mix and pour into 9x13 pan.
  4. Taking that same pot UNWASHED add melted butter and crackers and mix. You want all the flavors from the cheese mixture in the cracker crumb topping. Then top macaroni with cracker mixture.
  5. Bake uncovered, for 25-35 minutes, or until everything is melted really good.
