10 AHA MOMENTS!

So, my new favorite magazine is REAL SIMPLE. I received a subscription to it for Christmas as a stocking stuffer. Yes, I did pick it out myself. I happened to come across a $5 deal on Amazon for a 1 yr subscription. Here are some that made me go "what a good idea"!

1.TISSUE BOX AS A PLASTIC-BAG DISPENSER ( sure would have been nice to know this one before I spent almost $10 last year on a stainless steal one). Stash sacks in a empty tissue box for easy access when the bathroom trash can needs a liner.

2. NAIL POLISH AS RUST INHIBITOR -Apply a thin layer lacquer to the bottom rim of a shaving cream can to prevent unsightly rings from forming on the tub ledge.

3. TEA STRAINER AS A SUGAR DUSTER -Fill the mesh basket with confectioners sugar and tap to sift the sweet stuff on baked goods

4. CLEAN KETCHUP BOTTLE AS A PANCAKE BATTER DISPENSER (I have heard of this one before just forgot about it). Squeeze out perfect spheres every time all without a batter stovetop.

5.SILICONE CUTTING BOARD AS PLACE MAT- Perfect for kids. No more crying over spilled milk from tumbled bowls, thanks to this nonslip surface.

6.DIGITAL CAMERA AS NEW-CITY NAVIGATOR -Spare yourself the embarrassment of looking like a tourist. Snap a photo of your map and it will look as if you're scrolling through snapshots, not street names.

7.SAFETY PIN YOUR SOCKS TOGETHER BEFORE YOU PUT THEM IN THE WASH - You won't be looking for it's mate anymore

8. BRIGHTLY COLORED WALLET IS EASIER TO FIND IN A HANDBAG - You know you have searched for it too!

9. DUST A WREATH WITH SALT- Place a wreath of pinecones or faux evergreen in a paper bag with a 1/4 cup of salt. Fold the top of the bag over and gently shake.

10. STARCH AS SNEAKER PRESERVER- Preserving the just-out-of-the-box look of sneakers. Repel dirt and grime by spraying a light coat of starch all over the interiors and exteriors of canvas or nylon sneakers before wearing them. Reward: Shoes that stand up to the elements.
